Good afternoon all

Lots of information here!

Firstly, That Trip to Seaham, which should have taken place last Thursday.  It didn't, for very obvious reasons.  So let's start from Square One, and open up the trip to everyone again.  I've given details of the proposed trip several times, but if anyone has lost that info and needs it, just get in touch and I'll send it on.

The possible dates are:

Thursday March 26th

Wednesday 1st April

Saturday 18th April

Please let me know by Friday 21st March what your preference is. Or if you can manage more than one date, which date you CAN'T manage.

The next Breakfast meeting is on Tuesday 24th March.  It's the turn of Johnny Baghdad's.

The month after, the date will be Tuesday 28th April, and to celebrate a whole year of cheery breakfast meetings, we should go to where it all started, at Bordar House Teas.

And as a change of plan, because the date I originally suggested for the Dawn Walk wasn't popular, I suggest that we few hardy types who DO look forward to the prospect of getting up extremely early (sunrise will be at 05.35 that day) to enjoy a fresh new day, complete with sunrise and dawn chorus can do so on the 28th April, and come on to share breakfast with the 'lazier' types who stay abed until a more civilised hour.  When we know who'd like to join in, we can decide what form the walk should take.  Shall we all stay in our own immediate neighbourhood, as last year, or ... something else?

I had already proposed perhaps going to the Whitby Goth Weekend (https://thelittleblackalmanac.co.uk/) on one of its April/May dates. An alternative could be a little more local: Tees Cottage Pumping Station Doncaster Steam Punk Festival, in mid-May.  Victorian industrial history, fantastic costumes and a festival atmosphere.  What's not to get your camera out for?  https://www.teescottage.co.uk/

Most information for this at the moment comes from Facebook, which I can't access.

Both the Whitby event and the Tees Cottage event could provide huge numbers of photo ops, as wonderfully attired participants are eager to be photographed.  Any of us could go to either or both, but perhaps only one of these should be a club event.  Which one would YOU prefer to come to with the club?  Whitby? Tees Cottage? Or neither? Please let me know.

In mid June I'd love for us to return to Muker, to see the meadows there at their flower-filled best.  The upland hay-meadows there are renowned for their intense wildflower blooms as well as the Swaledale scenery. Energetic club members could walk a mile or three through a variety of these sites, but even less willing walkers can see plenty even by staying in a more limited area. And there's a good tea shop too.

That's quite enough to be going on with for now I think.  Let me know which events you'd like to join us on, and as always, all suggestions for future outings gratefully received.

See you all on Tuesday?

Margaret
