ABSTRACT JANUARY 2026
Judge's Comments
Please find below comments on the photographs that were placed.
N1 First.
A stunning photograph, almost an unrecognisable source.
I liked the tilt and the converging one point perspective.
The detail of the human inclusion pointing to the dead centre of the picture was genius.E2 Second.
I loved the format of the photograph and the fact that from each corner of the composition
you were taken along the lines and drawn into the centre of the image.
F1 Third.
Great use of the fracturing of the image into geometric shapes.
The eye was drawn into a contrasting point of interest and colour near the centre.
I1 Highly Commended.
The Dales, but not as we know them until you zoom in!
Great use of a panoramic format for the photograph, also a very subtle image not usually
found in abstract work.
Q3 Commended.
A very impactful image and good use of a square format.
It's almost monotone but not quite.
I still can't identify the source material but that's to your credit for an abstract photograph.
H3 Commended.
A very vibrant image capturing movement in a static subject matter.
An almost perfect summing up of a Summer day, just what January needs!
P2 Commended.
Great position of the point of interest in the image, leaving the reflection to complete the
composition, almost half and half.
